What is RSS?

RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites. Weblogs like Blogger, Live Journal and the like as well as news syndicators such as CNN net, and PC Gamer uses the tool. But it's not just for news. Pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via including web comics, which many have done in recent months. Once information about each item is in RSS format, an RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to the changes in an appropriate way.

To read an RSS XML feed you need a RSS aware program called RSS Agitatators. These programs keep track of all the RSS feeds you specify and read them. that is a normal browser cannot read XML specified for RSS.

Why RSS?

There are a lot of diffrent reasons why sites use RSS. BBC and other websites use RSS to display headlines in a box, to make the content of the news site easier to acess. Other sites like Yahoo, use RSS to quary news feeds as well as e-mail group threads. But the most popular use of RSS is news Agitation.

In Short A news Agitator, is a special feed set up using RSS, to let you know the latest update of a particular page, and you can easily access only what you want to. Some Agitators predownload all the data as well so it makes your searching through the site updates even easier.
